Chair Redo

So I also have a love of crafts, right now i'm making a quilt which I will posts pictures of after I get it done and give it to the person i'm making it for (She will love it hopefully i'm keeping my fingers crossed) but I also love doing reupholstering. Which means you buy an ugly chair that has good bones and take of the gross fabric and padding and recover it and make it into an amazing gem of a chair. I've done a couple of my moms thrift store and auction finds (I don't have picture of them though boo!!!) and they turned out amazing. But I found a chair that i'm in love with on kojo design. It is so amazing and it makes me want to go to the DI and find an ugly chair and some discount fabric at joanns but I cant I have to go to work but I just wanted to share it with y'all so you can inspired to reupholster a chair or stool anything with fabric on it.

Before: Old looking chair :(

After: Nice girly chair :)

I would love this chair in my house........

Warning: If you are going to attempt to reupholster a chair or stool start small and try and get
something that is simple, those tuffs can be hard to do for your first shot.
And when in doubt get more fabric (especially if its on clearance or on sale) and stay away from big prints (solids are the best)

Some more advice: Fabric is the key, you can do any type but you need to figure out how durable you need the furniture to be. Outdoor upholstery is really good since its weather proof
(easier to clean) and thick so you only need one layer.
Velvet, leather, pleather (fake leather) (Sometimes at joanns you can find couch leather really cheap) all good choices, canvas can be really nice but its more expensive. I wouldn't use cotton since it is thin and wouldn't hold up as well when you staple or use upholstery pins.

Well hopefully I inspired you to try something new
Good Luck :)

xoxo Nicole
