So I have had a love for mason jars for a while, and what else is there to do at 5 in
the morning when your husband is at work then to
look up craft ideas on the internet.
So I googled "Mason Jar Crafts" and came up with a bunch of stuff.
AND look at all these wonderful pictures :)
Im in love <3
I did this just on a smaller scale with jelly jars and I want to spray paint the metal lid with a
brushed bronze to match my soap holder, and boy am I excited!
I did something like this for my wedding reception...
I loved the simplicity of them... they were amazing and made solely by me for very little money at all :)
Here's another shot and another love of mine....
old windows turned into picture frames
I couldn't resist just putting another one of us in our memorable pose... kissing!
Anyways back to the jars....
I found this blog that showed you how to tint jars,
but used glue instead of mod pod because I wanted to try it this morning
The positive it will cost me nothing except my time. yahoo!!!!
So here is my try at tinting glass jars that perfect teal color :)
The only thing different i did was bake it.....
I dont know if glue is suppose to be baked. It smelled funny but worked as far as I can tell.
Oh also a word of advice: leave it upside down for like an hour so all the extra glue can drain out BEFORE baking it or you will have cooked glue which was weird.....
I baked it at 225 till it was clear (about 30 minutes) and left it in the
oven after i turned it off
Dont forget to put foil or wax paper down on your pan, i used some cardboard but maybe thats what was smelling funny , but i will never know.
Enjoy!
xoxo Nicole
