Vacation

So when we finally got to Florida we went to Port Canaveral (not Port Carnival like I called it for a long time) we had to wait to get on the ship but boy we were excited.

This is our first look at our ship :)

Us right before we entered the ship after the almost hour wait to get through customs...

We both look gross..... Thank you airport for giving us the privileged to be in you for two days.

Ready to cruise!!!

The first night we played shuffle board which is one of my favorite games.... (It's not just for old people)

We also played with the awesome life-size chess game.... James won of course :(
Our second day:
It didnt go according to plan. Our first port which was Freeport, We didnt get to go on the island because it was too windy so we stayed on the ship that day and enjoyed some virgin drink. I also learned what a Sherrly Temple is..... I tasted like sprite, I dont recommend it.

Gorgeous Blue Ocean

YEAH we were in Nassau...

This is Atlantis for those who dont know

Downtown Nassau, it was very colorful which I loved :)

A random thing inside the customs building, I thought it was cool

Day Three:
We went to Nassau the night before but it rained so we didnt get to do anything but the next day we explored as much as our feet would let us.

This was the pirates museum which was really cool well worth it :)

The Queen's Staircase (which was on top of a hill and just about killed my butt)

This is Fort Pincastle which sat on the highest point in Nassau so you could see everything, a gorgeous 360 degree view. An interesting fact about Fort Pincastle is that it's a couple of hundred years old but never once has it had to defend itself against somebody trying to invade.

This is downtown Nassau, the whole city was decorated which seemed weird, but later we realized that prince Harry was coming to visit in behalf of his mother. (Lets just say they went overboard with tons of pictures of the queen)

This was the most expensive ice cream cone I have ever bought but it
was so good, the best I've ever had

Us getting back on the ship and snapping some shots of the ship

How amazing does this look? Well it was two dollars and yes it was delicious :)

Four Day: another disappointment
The port we were most excited about, Half Moon Cay, came and gone and we didnt get to see it :(
yet again it was too windy to stop so we left. No snorkeling for us, we were both really bummed (James was really mad and dint want to do anything but I made him do stuff with me)

We went to a reverse scavenger hunt....

You were suppose to gather a bunch of items and bring them and they called out items and you got points for the ones you had.... needless to say I grabbed everything except toilet paper

This is James using a hand towel to be a mummy....I loved it :)

Sometimes we get bored before shows and make funny faces at the camera

More awesome cake and some formal chocolate covered strawberries

Day Five: Good Day!
Since we didnt go to Half Moon Cay we headed to Freeport and got to port. We were
excited to get off the boat.

This is us waiting for our tour bus so we can get a grand tour of the island

A random building (Almost all of the buildings were light pink)

Us bored, we were stopped at a market waiting for everybody to get back on so we could go

Love all the palm trees

Our only actual meal in the Bahamas was greek gyros.... lol lol lol how funny is that. That sad thing was this is some of the best gyros I've had. This was James's first experience and lets just say he ate most of it so I think he liked it

This guy was amazing he did the limbo, the stick was held up by two beer bottles and he
didnt even touch the ground (I made sure)

The only beach we went to and it was COLD... We only dipped our feet in

Waiting on people again so we could leave to get back on the ship

If you cant tell what this is, it is an ice cream swan....
I got a kick out of it :)

 Leaving Morning: Bittersweet
We didnt want to leave but the boat was getting small.... and it rocked a lot (not a good thing)

This was our steward, I dont know his name but he was really good. The thing was weird/funny is I think he oinly knew my name and called both of us "mubblenicole" I thought it was funny

Our shuttle took forever to get there so we waited in a parking lot were these microscopic bugs kept landing on us.... James said he's never going to take me camping :(

Overall it was an amazing trip. We both had tons of fun, we just wished it wasnt so windy and we didnt spend forever on the open ocean. For the next day or so we felt like we were still on the ship, the world kept moving side to side (now I know how drunk people feel). Our next cruise we want to go on a bigger ship (the Ecstasy is one of the smallest ships). Another thing we learned and wish to tell everybody is plan carefully when you go, half the boat was filled with spring breakers and they were not fun. Dont go in the beginning of March, unless you are a single college age student who wishes to get drunk all day long and run the halls at two in the morning while screaming then go right ahead. But even with that it was a memorable trip, and a great delayed honeymoon.

xoxo Nicole

P.S. I have one more post about the vacation and another detour to post about :)
